A lost and sad man once told me that I if I dare to dream I can be more than a career I am a mindless feminist, delusional that motherhood, creativity and work could co-exist. He walked into the house, disguised as friend, and posed a question to (my) him: “And would you be a househusband?’
The liberal misogynist walks amongst us. A boss, a doctor, a shopkeeper, a colleague, a passer by and on goes the list… Might even have a pair of tits to your surprise.
(S)He’s one of those conflictual individuals twisting theories and principles of recognized movements to suit their own agendas and to express their bitter personal experiences. They often label themselves liberal, insightful, wise and even revolutionary. They often have an audience. So if you come across such boys and girls please don’t indulge them. Please don’t react or play along, unless of course you have the admirable maliciousness to crush them. Reject those people who dissect relationships (of any kind) on gender basis, immoralising every ounce of independence and empowerment in man, woman or couple.
May your true basis of equality be to stop living by ‘those’ labels, sterotypes and prejudices. At least give it a try…
Fence off the liberal misogynist from mind and home. Make them dissolve into thin air. Make them alone.
